Some new friends recently invited our family and our dogs on a nutria hunt around Corvallis, Oregon. we brought our jagds Digger, Sis, and O.P. Christian brought his patterdales Timmy and Jackson and a lurcher named Red. Nick brought his patterdale Radish and Paul his jagd Scruffy. Christian and Nick's dogs are trained nutria dogs and did a great job locating the nutrias in thier holes. The patterdales wore underground locator collars to help pinpoint where to dig down to the dogs. We were very happy with how well our dogs did on thier first nutria hunt. Digger spent over 45 minutes underground while we dug down to him on only his second nutria he ever encountered. It was a great day of hunting and we got around a dozen nutria.

We are digging a hole down to the dogs from the top and blocking the entrance below. We eventually had to try digging in from the entrance to get the dogs out.

At the end of the day we had some VERY muddy and tired people and dogs but it was a awsome hunt that we hope to do again and let our dogs do some more denwork. A big thank you to Christian and Nick and especially to little Timmy, Radish, and Jackson.
